La Ciudad de Corpus Christi ha comenzado un proyecto para evaluar como mejorar la Avenida de Port entre las intersecciones del I-37 y U.S.181 (oeste de Mesquite).

La ciudad está pidiendo comentarios de los vecinos, dueños de negocios, y los otros interesados antes de llegar a una decisión sobre las mejoras para la calle. Es posible que reconstruyan la calle, añadan carriles, instalen luces, aceras, y señales de tráfico / semáforos, y eliminen estacionamiento en la calle. Sin embargo, la ciudad se ha decidido a instalar un semáforo en el cruce de la Avenida de Port y Winnebago. Habrá más oportunidades para informarse y presentar sus comentarios sobre este proyecto. The City of Corpus Christi held an Public Open House on July 26, 2007 at the Oveal Williams Senior Center. One of the goals of the project is to actively involve and listen to public's concerns regarding improvements along this road. Additional meetings will be held before a plan is finalized.
