Project Polling Results - Public Ranks Seven Selected Projects

Web Article

With the constraint funding situation it was necessary to prioritize seven selected projects for the FY 2010 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and FY 2010-2036 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP).
OOThe MPO asked the public to numerically rank seven selected projects they felt to be 1 = the most important to 7 = the least important, on a online poll from August 20 to September 3.
OOThe top 3 projects are: No. 1 - FM 3239/Buddy Ganem (US 181 to FM 2986): A heavily congested segment which provides a route for two school campuses, four newly developed subdivisions and rapid commercial development. No. 2 - Williams Dr. (Staples to Airline): This section has increased high traffic volume and critical intersections. No. 3 - Yorktown Blvd (Cimarron to Rodd Field): This segment shows considerable growth with a new fire station, new subdivision development and public use venues. The seven selected projects will be added into the funded long-range plan and FY2012 - 2013 TIP.
OOA NEPA Process Constraints Map was created to examine the possibility of any adverse environmental impact of the proposed projects. No adverse environmental impact were identified.
