Project Descriptions & Ranking Order
- FM 3229/Buddy Ganem (US 181 to FM 2986): This segment shows significant economic development. It is also a school route to high school and junior high school. The people from four newly developed subdivisions use this intersection to commute to Corpus Christi and the congestion level is worsening. There are several safety related issues making this the prime project for City of Portland.
- Williams Dr. (Staples to Airline): The Williams Drive project is originally in the City of Corpus Christi's Street Bond 2008 projects with two phases. Phase 1 extends from Rodd Field to Nile and Phase 2 extends from Nile to Airline (excludes Airline/Staples segment). This project addresses the critical situation at the Williams/Staples intersection and its high-traffic volumes.
- Yorktown Blvd. (Cimarron to Rodd Field): This project is also in City of Corpus Christi's Street Bond 2008. The city covers Yorktown, Staples, and Cimarron but does not include Cimarron to Rodd Field. This segment shows considerable growth with a new fire station, new subdivision development and soccer field.
- Rodd Field Rd. (Saratoga to Yorktown): This segment shows significant increase in traffic volume due to the development of the area.
- FM 43/Weber (Oso Creek to SH 286): This segment shows an increase in traffic volumes as backflow traffic is using FM 43 (Weber) to get on SH 286.
- Holly Rd. (SH 286 Crosstown to Greenwood): Currently in the TIP (short-range plan) with two phases. Phase 1 is design/engineering work (FY 2010-2011) and Phase 2 is construction (FY 2012). This project is based upon the prospective development of Crosstown Commons and its economic development effects.
- FM 2444/Staples (Oso Creek to SH 286): This segment shows an critical increase in traffic volumes as backflow traffic is using FM 2444 (Staples) to get on SH 286.
