The Corpus Christi Metropolitan Planning Organization requires involvement of policy makers, technical staff, and the citizens to address various facets of the transportation planning process. The geographic extent of the MPO is shown on the Corpus Christi Metropolitan Study Area Map. In July 1973, the State of Texas, the Cities of Corpus Christi and Portland, and Counties of Nueces and San Patricio agreed to participate in a continuing, comprehensive, and cooperative transportation planning process for the Corpus Christi Urban Transportation Study Area.
